COVID-19 Took so much...

With the global headlines, constant breaking news and endless cycles of information of how much we did not know... COVID-19's overwhelming numbers of those infected worldwide took us all by storm. Those cold numbers just tabulated the massive world takeover of a novel virus that could stop our interconnecting worlds and how it brought us to a halt. This virus exposed the truths of how the most vulnerable had the least resources. How the fundamental autonomic act of respiration could bring sickness. Coronavirus uncovered how quickly our health systems became overburdened with the number of severely ill people. All the while this terrible virus swept through our world another pervasive ill also invaded our lives, misinformation, misdirection just for political power. For many, it was easy to overlook how behind every number on a screen, there was actually a human with loved ones, family members, friends, neighbors, mentors, elders. The cost is priceless to the ones that have to bear the loss of a loved one. We must learn how to live with this absence, we must continue on. COVID-19 didn't only take people directly with its adverse effects on the body. Also it took so many with the lack of ability heath systems had to be able to take care of those with other diseases. We must take action now to create better systems that will assist those in need. If anything, this pandemic must leave us with the knowledge of how much we depend on each other. May we see the current struggles of so many and take steps to create a better world where instead of prayer, we perform a good deed. In honor of the ones that no longer are here may we take steps towards a better world.
